The Kanye West-inspired music TV drama Empire returned this past Wednesday an hour earlier than its usual slot on Fox. According to Variety, the spring premier pulled in high ratings outperforming its winter finale averaging a 2.0 and 6.1 million viewers making it the top-rated show of the night, above ABC's Modern Family and NBC's recap episode of The Voice.
